My lady is dressed as the iconic Marilyn Monroe. So many people only see her as a pretty face, but she was so much more. Marilyn Monroe was a feminist before feminism was even a word. When society was trying to force women to stay in their "prim and proper" housewife roles, Marilyn stood out among the crowd. She defied all traditional views of women and opened up the gates for millions of other women to express themselves and do what they wished. Marilyn was brave and courageous, and for that I admire her.

I chose to dress up as Coco Chanel !
With her trademark suits and little black dresses, fashion designer Coco Chanel created timeless designs that are still popular today!

Re: FA Monthly contest - Women's Day

LADY: ANNABELLE COCO

Jeanne d'Arc / Joan of Arc
A heroic woman warrior symbolic of freedom.
Joan of Arc (French: Jeanne d'Arc), nicknamed "The Maid of Orléans" (French: La Pucelle d'Orléans) is considered a heroine of France for her role during the Lancastrian phase of the Hundred Years' War, and was canonized as a Roman Catholic saint. Joan of Arc was born to Jacques d'Arc and Isabelle, a peasant family, at Domrémy in north-east France. Joan said she received visions of the Archangel Michael, Saint Margaret, and Saint Catherine instructing her to support Charles VII and recover France from English domination late in the Hundred Years' War. The uncrowned King Charles VII sent Joan to the siege of Orléans as part of a relief mission. She gained prominence after the siege was lifted only nine days later. Several additional swift victories led to Charles VII's coronation at Reims. This long-awaited event boosted French morale and paved the way for the final French victory.

My lady name is Demiiii

Angelina Jolie Pitt is an American actress, filmmaker, and humanitarian. She has received an Academy Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards, and has been cited as Hollywood's highest-paid actress. Jolie first witnessed the effects of a humanitarian crisis while filming Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) in war-torn Cambodia, an experience she later credited with having brought her a greater understanding of the world.[91] Upon her return home, she contacted the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for information on international trouble spots.[90] To learn more about the conditions in these areas, she began visiting refugee camps around the world. In February 2001, she went on her first field visit, an 18-day mission to Sierra Leone and Tanzania; she later expressed her shock at what she had witnessed. In the following months, Jolie returned to Cambodia for two weeks and met with Afghan refugees in Pakistan, where she donated $1 million in response to an international UNHCR emergency appeal the largest donation UNHCR had ever received from a private individual. Over the next decade, she went on more than 40 field missions, meeting with refugees and internally displaced persons in over 30 countries. olie has fronted a campaign against sexual violence in military conflict zones by the UK government, which made the issue a priority of its 2013 G8 presidency. In May 2012, she launched the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative (PSVI) with Foreign Secretary William Hague, who was inspired to campaign on the issue by her Bosnian war drama In the Land of Blood and Honey (2011).PSVI was established to complement wider UK government work by raising awareness and promoting international co-operation.[136] Jolie spoke on the subject at the G8 foreign ministers meeting, where the attending nations adopted a historic declaration, and before the UN security council, which responded by adopting its broadest resolution on the issue to date. In June 2014, she co-chaired the four-day Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict, the largest-ever meeting on the subject, attended by 123 nations. It resulted in a protocol endorsed by 151 countries.
In February 2015, Jolie and Hague launched the UK's first academic Centre on Women, Peace and Security, based at the London School of Economics and Political Science. The Centre aims to contribute to global women's rights issues, including the prosecution of war rape and women's engagement in politics, through academic research, a post-graduate teaching program, public engagement, and collaboration with international organizations

There are many inspirational women who have changed the history of the world. Yet there are many more women whose names are not there in the history book, but without whom , the history of this world would not have been written at all.

This is a tribute them them all....

Image

The hands that rock the cradle The hands that rule the world,
The strengths that build and the powers that protect a world, The hearts that fill the world with compassion, The wisdom that lights up the future.....50% of the world's population in their unparallelled, unacknowledged multiple roles....

The women of yesterday today and tomorrow, without whom this world wouldn't have existed...

Lady name: Katherine_Amara

My lady is dressed (as best as I could recreate it) as Emmeline Pankhurst. She led women's right to vote movement

Image

British suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst founded the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU), a group known for extreme forms of protest such as chaining themselves to railings and going on hunger strikes.
"We are here, not because we are law-breakers; we are here in our efforts to become law-makers," she said during a court trail in 1908.
Sadly Pankhurst never lived to see her dream become reality, dying three weeks before a law was passed giving women equal voting rights with men.
