Lady: STYLES N SMILES
Club: ♔ʀԑiԍղ♕

Aung San Suu Kyi led the National League for Democracy (NLD) to a majority win in Myanmar's first openly contested election in 25 years in November 2015.

The win came five years to the day since she was released from 15 years of house arrest. The 70-year-old spent much of her time between 1989 and 2010 in some form of detention because of her efforts to bring democracy to military-ruled Myanmar (Burma) - a fact that made her an international symbol of peaceful resistance in the face of oppression.

In 1991, "The Lady" as she's known, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and the committee chairman called her "an outstanding example of the power of the powerless".

Re: FA Monthly contest - Women's Day

Postby Merimaa Wildee » 24 Mar 2016, 16:03

Hello ladies :D So for Women's day I choose A brave and smart, capable and diligent, talented and brilliant actress, an accomplished business woman, a great producer and screenwriter, Some love her beauty and some vulnerability and tenderness that she was hiding under heavy film makeup. Her image, out, was and still is one of the best projects at a time when marketing and PR was not like today.Nevertheless she's been underpaid, underappreciated and not respected, and her mind was well-kept secret. One and only Marilyn Monroe  Born as Norma Jeane Mortenson, (June 1, 1926 – August 5, 1962) she was discovered while being photographed by photographer David Conover and there started her rise towards fame. She modeled and later became famous for playing "Dumb Blonde" Characters and Yes, she had a terrible childhood and she had no luck with men but outside of studio she was just herself cos for her Marilyn was just character. Despite Fox studio accusing her of being late on sets and thinking on her own(Uhhh such big crime  ) and trying to bring her down in anyway possible but still wanting her back after releasing her cos she bring money in cinemas She was such amazing person and all who known her could say that.
But I wanna bring your attention to why she is such Role model for me and inspiration. She was educated, she was reading books, she was laughed at because she had read Dostoevsky(stupid people as always!!) she didn't have school classes as kid, she have harsh childhood so when she started receiving checks she used them to buy books and go to private classes to learn and to work on herself. She knew many writers and as a passionate reader many already rated, read a ton of books and was also a friend to many.Three hours of acting, short lunch hour while dancing, fencing hour, an hour of singing and riding lesson. Lifts the weights and running when no one jogged, surf and ski on the water. Healthy nutrients. Practiced yoga, that was all her routine. She studied the anatomy and learned how the body works. From the book "The thinking body" has adopted a number of things - voice, breathing, posture and gait. And world was never the same again, never anyone walked like her to this day.She inspired so many artist and actors to this day and she used funny names in hotels so she can't be recognized and disturbed.Despite being called fat by evil ones she had waist narrower than the then average American. She wasn't thin also, she had gorgeous body that all absolutely loved
She read like a maniac and learning that make up the school and because she loved to read. She always wished she could study and went to lectures at UCLA from art. She read everything from the classics, modern fiction writers and playwrights, ancient literature, Russians, like the poetry or the reading and books on psychology, anatomy, religion, biographies ...
After her death in her home was found over 430 books and many more that were gone to auctions and some she never received back. She was huge passionate lover of animals and was in search of love whatever she can receive it so she had many love relationships with actors and other men. She had few marriages,it was rumored she planned to marry again to Joe DiMaggio and We all know the story that after her death he asked for the body, organized a funeral, given that she was dressed in his favorite green Pucci dress, and neither he nor her financial advisor let anyone from the film world came close (Sinatra was enraged). For twenty years, Joe sent a half-dozen red roses on her grave three times a week and never talked about it in public. After that is paid in cash to a charity for children because he thought it would be her preferred. Cos he loved kids and kids loved her back, all of them who worked with ther and kids from her husbands previous marriages.Until he died in 1999. She had few misscarriages and she wanted to have baby so much. Her death, well it is mystery cos some believe she was killed, other say she used drugs, but her friends are telling she was in good shape and would never use drugs, just some headache pills after she was sick on set before her last days, cos she wanted to be pregnant! But one is sure, They say that she was the last woman in the world, the last great star, the most beautiful woman in the world ever, with that you can or do not have to agree, so many years after her death she is still mystery and femme fatal and sensible, fragile women and I am grateful she existed!!

Image

This is my reimagination of her, I put some books and notebooks in there to represent her passion for reading. Also I could pick any of her gorgeous red outfits  but I wanted to show her iconic look, well one of them to show you that there is lot more than meets the eye cos she was truly unique lady  I tried to make her eyes give that smouldering, sassy look and to give her heart on sleeve and show her soul, I hope i make it :D She have amazing make up routine, and her lips were layer on layer of rouge, I hope I make it true :D Thanks to all who read this post <333 Kisses <333 I am sorry for mistakes, I written this all from my head, except names and birth date. I hope you like it, thanks for all and good luck to you all <3333

Marilyn Monroe quotes(one of my faves):

"GIVE A GIRL THE RIGHT SHOES, AND SHE CAN CONQUER THE WORLD."

“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”

“This life is what you make it. No matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends - they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they're your true best friends. Don't let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And baby, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soulmate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about.”

“A wise girl kisses but doesn't love, listens but doesn't believe, and leaves before she is left.”

hello !! my lady name is: MISS LUNA
as my inspiring character i choosed GABRIELLE CHANEL who is one of the greatest fashion designers of the 20th century.
Gabrielle Bonheur “Coco” Chanel was born on August 19, 1883 . Her mother died when Chanel was twelve years old. One week later she was abandoned by her father, who left her to be raised by the nuns in a provincial orphanage.

There was no future, at that time, for a poor girl brought up by the charity. But the dream for escape was made in her mind at this early age.
Coco Chanel had changed the way women dressed and made her style dominant once and forever .

Image

i want to honor her by wearing one of her lasting success: the LBD""the little black dress""
Chanel stated that“Women think about all colors except the absence of color. I have already said that black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute.” Instead of seeing black as a boring and dull color for fabric, Chanel saw the possibilities for lasting perfection. Black is a color that any woman could wear at anytime without having to worry that it was out of style. This flexibility is power to a woman. Chanel embraced the time when women were wearing bold, daring patterns by challenging them to wear the simple piece.

Helen Adams Keller (June 27, 1880 – June 1, 1968) was an American author, political activist, and lecturer. She was the first deafblind person to earn a bachelor of arts degree.A prolific author, Keller was well-traveled and outspoken in her convictions. A member of the Socialist Party of America and the Industrial Workers of the World, she campaigned for women's suffrage, labor rights, socialism, and other similar causes. She was inducted into the Alabama Women's Hall of Fame in 1971[5] and was one of twelve inaugural inductees to the Alabama Writers Hall of Fame on June 8, 2015. Helen Keller, probably did not see her beauty through her own eyes, but her internal as well as external beauty was beheld and admired by a whole world.

The Lady with the Lamp

Florence Nightingale (12 May 1820 – 13 August 1910) was a celebrated English social reformer and statistician, and the founder of modern nursing. She came to prominence while serving as a manager of nurses trained by her during the Crimean War, where she organised the tending to wounded soldiers. She gave nursing a highly favourable reputation and became an icon of Victorian culture, especially in the persona of "The Lady with the Lamp" making rounds of wounded soldiers at night. Her social reforms include improving healthcare for all sections of British society, advocating better hunger relief in India, helping to abolish prostitution laws that were over-harsh to women, and expanding the acceptable forms of female participation in the workforce.

Nightingale was a prodigious and versatile writer. In her lifetime, much of her published work was concerned with spreading medical knowledge. Some of her tracts were written in simple English so that they could easily be understood by those with poor literary skills. She also helped popularise the graphical presentation of statistical data.

This lady with the lamp is not only an icon of diligent leadership displayed by a woman, but also an eternal symbol of devotion, sincerity, dedication and compassion, for which she will be celebrated by all human kind of all times.

Re: FA Monthly contest - Women's Day

Postby Princess Jubilee » 26 Mar 2016, 20:37

Lady: Gytha

The Pharaoh Hatshepsut claimed the regency of Egypt in 1478, when her stepson Thutmose III was only 2 years old. She ran the country for the following 22 years, in what was to be one of Egypt's most prosperous eras. She ushered in a season of peace, sending her army to open up trade routes to foreign lands. The trade networks that she established brought new riches to Egypt, and frankly, if she was running for president she would get my vote. Although she wasn't the first female pharaoh, women in power were uncommon, and widely regarded with mistrust. Because of this, she had artists portray her in the short skirts generally worn by men. We do not, and never can, know if she dressed this way in her daily life, but I'm choosing to present her that way, because we have no other pictures of her.

Quotes: "Hear ye, all persons! Ye people as many as ye are! I have done things according to the design of my heart. … I have restored that which was in ruins, I have raised up that which was unfinished . . ."
"When the sun shines its rays are bright upon the titulary of my majesty; my Horus is high upon the standard … forever."
