Mayfly
I find the life of mayflies a very poignant story. Although they do live for three years in the water as larvae, their developed life lasts only a few days as they have no digestive tract once they reach their mature form. Hence it is only reserved for mating which happens in the early summer as they swarm above the waters by the hundreds or thousands, which is quite a sight to behold. After mating, the males die instantly while the females lay their eggs, then they also die. In Hungarian we have the saying "have the life of a mayfly" for something that turns out to be of a very short lifespan.
My outfit shows a female mayfly that is about to die after having fulfilled her reproductive "duty".
