We are looking to make a list of good, creepy, scary movies. Not the bloody, gory, chop 'em up kind - more of the ghost and haunted house kind. Just list your favorite few movies and maybe a couple of words about why you liked them so much!

I love so many movies.

Classics:

Poltergeist (old and new)
The Birds
The Haunting (old and new)
Rose Red (TOP FIVE for sure!!)
Sixth Sense
Rear Window (not a ghost story - but had me a nervous wreck - the original, never saw the remake)

Newer ones:

The Conjuring (almost peed myself)
Don't Blink (weird and really original)
The Others
Paranormal Activity ONE (the others are pretty lame)

Added:

Dark Water
Muirhouse
The Ring
Stir of Echoes
Insidious (ONE)
Babadook (dumb but creepy)
When a Stranger Calls (2006) Not a ghost story but oh my gosh - do NOT watch this alone)

I'll think if more, no doubt. But now... tell me yours!

great idea Lorena
I like to call this horror movies for smart people lol

The Others (creepy and surprising, w/ Nicole Kidman)
Unfriended (a little gory but gets points for creativity)
Babadook (another one where it takes awhile to figure out what is going on)
Let the right one in (if you like vampires, this one is for you)
Shaun of the dead( I know, I know what you are thinking but it is smart, funny and scary)
The wicker man (this one freaked me out) there is a 1973 version, the original and a remake
Zombieland
The cabin in the woods (it is not what it appears to be)
Goodnight Mommy (sure to give you the heebie jeebies)

happy halloween

A good scary movie I know is probably Dead Silence. It's basically about a bunch of puppets. xD
